Soraivy vs the big video platforms: an honest comparison for small creators
24 August 2026 · Soraivy Team
Let’s get the obvious bit out of the way: the biggest video platforms are enormous, and we are not. If you ask us “should I leave my current platform for Soraivy?”, our honest answer is no. You don’t have to leave anything. Most of our creators post in both places. The better question is where each platform actually helps you, and that’s what this post is about.
Where the big platforms are better (and we’ll admit it)
- Audience size. Billions of people already use the largest platforms every month. We can’t compete with that today, and pretending otherwise wouldn’t help you.
- Search traffic. People search the biggest video sites the way they search the web. A good tutorial can pull in views for years.
- Maturity. The older platforms have had many years to polish their tools, their apps and their ad business.
Where Soraivy is built differently
The thing most small creators tell us about bigger platforms is some version of “I upload and nothing happens.” When a feed leans on channel size and past performance, the channels that are already big keep winning, and a new channel with a good video can sit at 12 views for weeks.
We built SoraPulse, our recommendation engine, around a different rule: channel size is not a ranking factor. Admirer count, verification badges and lifetime views are not used when a video is ranked. Each upload is judged on how real viewers respond to it: do they finish it, rewatch it, share it, comment on it? On top of that, part of every feed is set aside for exploration and for creators who have not had much exposure yet.
Does that mean every video blows up? No. A video people skip after five seconds will still struggle. But a good video from a channel with 40 admirers gets a real chance to be seen, and that is the whole point.
Monetization
On most large platforms you need a big audience before you can earn anything at all. On Soraivy, eligibility is checked from your Studio, you get an email the moment your channel qualifies, and creators in the Creator Program sign a written agreement that spells out their revenue share and payout terms in plain language. We’d rather you know exactly where you stand than guess.
Everything in one place
Videos, Shorts, live streams and replays all live on one channel, with Studio, analytics, OBS overlays and a built-in video editor alongside. You don’t need five different tools to run a small channel.
So which should you use?
Honestly? Both, if you can. Keep building wherever you already have an audience, and use Soraivy as the place where your work gets judged on quality rather than on how big you already are. Post your best videos here, watch what SoraPulse does with them, and decide for yourself based on what you see, not on what we say in a blog post.
And if you do try Soraivy, tell us how it went. Good or bad, your story helps us make the platform better for the next small creator.
