How SoraPulse ranks videos (and why channel size doesn’t matter)
3 August 2026 · Soraivy Team
Every video you see on the Soraivy Home feed, in Shorts, in the related list on a watch page, and in live discovery is ordered by SoraPulse, our recommendation engine. We built it around one rule: a brand-new creator with a great video should be able to reach viewers just like a channel with a million admirers. This post explains how that works in practice.
Creator size is not a ranking signal
SoraPulse does not use admirer count, verification badges, lifetime channel views or channel size when it ranks an individual upload. Each video is scored on its own, from how real viewers respond to it. Your admirer count still matters for people who visit your channel directly, but it does not push one video above another in the feed.
What helps a video
- Watch quality: people finishing the video, watching deep into it, and rewatching.
- Meaningful engagement: shares, saves, real comments, and viewers becoming admirers after watching.
- Likes and session continuation: viewers who keep watching on Soraivy after your video.
Shorts and long-form videos are judged differently. Shorts reward completion and rewatches. Long-form videos reward sustained watch depth, and a longer runtime alone gives no automatic advantage. A tight 8-minute video that people finish can beat a 40-minute video they abandon.
What hurts a video
- Fast skips in the first seconds.
- Viewers choosing “Not interested” or hiding the video.
- Reports for policy violations.
- Misleading titles or thumbnails, which lead to quick exits.
Fairness, freshness and exploration
On top of the per-video score, SoraPulse blends in three things. Freshness gives new uploads a window to collect signals. Exploration slots deliberately show videos that have not been seen much yet. And fairness adjusts for channels that have already received a lot of platform-wide exposure recently, so attention is spread across more creators instead of pooling at the top.
Why a new upload may start slowly
A video needs some viewers before SoraPulse can be confident about it. If your upload is quiet in its first hours, that is normal. Open Studio → Content → Analytics on the video to see its SoraPulse score and reach, and compare it against your other uploads to learn what held attention.
You can’t buy your way up
Purchased views, bot admirers and engagement swaps break our integrity rules. SoraPulse filters and discounts these patterns, and repeated abuse can reduce a channel’s distribution or lead to account action. The only reliable way up is making videos people actually want to finish.
Simple ways to help your next video
- Start fast. Show the best part in the first few seconds.
- Keep the title honest. Say what the video really is.
- Cut the slow parts. Shorter and tighter often wins.
- Ask viewers a real question, so they want to comment.
- Make the next video easy to find. Mention it at the end.
Quick answers
Will a badge help my video rank? No. Badges never change ranking. Will posting every day help? Only if the videos are good. Ten weak videos can do worse than one strong one. Do old videos still get shown? Yes. If people still enjoy them, SoraPulse can keep showing them.
